Nice to meet you!

Shannyn Karasawa is a Japanese-American artist based in Orange County. They are interested in the quaint moments of life and enjoy incorporating them into their illustrations while exploring colors to convey a visual story.

During their time at California State University, Long Beach’s School of Art, they honed their storytelling and background skills through rigorous studies. For their senior film, Sweet Dreams, they directed and animated in collaboration with peers across departments. Since graduating in 2023, they have applied their skills to various illustrative projects such as children’s books and murals.

When they are not creating art or other crafty trinkets, they are in the garden tending to their veggies and flowers, reading their newest modern horror novel at a local coffee shop, or in the kitchen whipping up something tasty!
